Xtreme Fighting Championships Announces Pair of 2013 Events
Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC) is nearing the end of their 2012 campaign with the last scheduled event for the year set for December 7 in Nashville, Tennessee.
That show will be a true finale, with a main event that will interest even the most leisurely MMA fan; featuring the inspirational Nick “Notorious” Newell and standout Eric “It’s A Wrap” Reynolds. XFC 21 will crown the next champion of the Lightweight division with the victor of this fight, and set the tone for an already progressing 2013 calendar.
Already scheduled for 2013 is a fight for the troops at Camp Lejeune on February 22 and then an April 19 event in nearby Charlotte, North Carolina. Following December’s show, fans can certainly expect to see more of the Lightweight division in 2013 as the fighters in that weight class look to earn their shot at the future champion. The winner of the Jason Hicks vs. Kevin Forant fight will move on to fight undefeated Scott Holtzman. That fight is scheduled for one of the two first shows with an exact date to be determined following XFC 21.
The Bantamweight, Featherweight, Welterweight, and female divisions will also be highly active through 2013, and it is possible that champions will be named in those divisions next year as well. In addition, the Flyweight division will be opened up on the Male side of the company division. With 6-8 shows planned to air on AXStv, MMA fans can rest assured America’s fastest growing promotion will continue to bring the most exciting young fighters and XFC favorites such as Newell, Reynolds, Bobonis, Sanchez, Bagherdai, and Holtzman through 2013.
