The rising promotion announced this morning it will add the first member of the Women’s Atomweight division with Angelica Chavez of the Chavez Dojo in Albuquerque, New Mexico signing a multi-fight deal over the weekend.
Chavez has a pro record of 4-2 and has been involved in martial arts since childhood training at her family’s dojo. She started her career 4-0, with four finishes by submission before dropping a pair of close decisions.
Chavez’s will make her debut with the XFC in early 2013 though no opponent has been named yet. She is the first signee of 2013 for the XFC, which recently announced it would be adding more females to the roster for the upcoming calendar year. Last week, just before the New Year, it was also announced Pearl Gonzalez would be joining the promotion’s 125-pound division with fellow Flyweight Sofia Bagherdai.
